Olives in a mixed landscape with mountains and pine forests

When we look over the region we see fields with different crops. Mainly olive trees, although accompanied by almond trees and vineyards. All located between mountains and pine forests. (Unlike many farmland regions, we do not use monoculture practices.)

For a better use of the land the trees are planted on terraces that we call bancals. To create the bancals, large walls were built from the local stone, forming terraces on the hillside, allowing cultivation on the slopes. This is an ideal use of the land, avoiding congestion, while siting at different levels up the valley allows wide spaces, unshaded sunshine and healthy airflow between the trees.
